“the ultimate way to kill time on a bus.”
Let’s be honest, Angry Birds isn’t going to be a game remembered for it’s complexity. Angry Birds will be remembered because its fun, addictive, and is the ultimate way to kill time on a bus.
So, what makes this title different to other Angry Birds? Well, not much. But that’s fine. The Angry Birds formula works, and any Star Wars fan will want to play this game just for the amusement factor.
The artwork style looks especially nice on a PC monitor. The Star Wars inspired backgrounds, character designs for the birds, and even the menu are great.
At first it felt quite strange playing the game with a mouse to me personally, but that feeling quickly vanished. Was that the only challenge? Mostly. I will however admit to a few levels taking longer than expected. Timing some of the abilities to cause mayhem on the screen was actually a challenge on about 3 levels. The last mission on the pork side, a new addiction to part II, had me confused for quite a while.
So, what’s the pork side? Pork side is the Angry Birds’ version of the dark side. Which is playable for the first time in the Angry Birds Star Wars universe. On a typical playthrough you can play as either the good guys, or the pork side!
Another note worthy part of the game is the bonus chapters. In these bonus chapters you can play as famous characters from the Star Wars universe. For example, one part see’s you playing as Yoda who can bounce off surfaces and do some big damage to your current obstacles.
Overall thoughts:
Angry Birds Star Wars II is the game you already know, and that’s cool. Chill out, have a few games a day and remember … MAY THE BIRDS BE WITH YOU!
