Kuroko’s Basketball episode 3 review. The team have a game against a team featuring one of the Generation of Miracles! Minor spoilers ahead.
Another episode, another great viewing experience. Seriously, this is just fun to watch. The tension of the game, the characters wanting to be the best and the comedy elements just roll nice.
Episode 3 centers around Seiren (the name of the basketball team) visiting Kaijō High a national-level team. Much to the surprise of Aida and the rest of the team the national-level team are not set up great. The rival team’s coach declares they are using half the hall to practice as they aren’t expecting much of a challenge. MEOW! This is seen as quite the insult, not that it lasts long, and fires up Team Seiren. Before you know it a real game has broke out and both teams are going all out.
What I liked about this episode was the technical elements, the superb and gripping animation and the competitive spirit that seeped out of the characters. As an outside observer on Japan it seems that sport is taken SERIOUS. The martial arts spirit applies to everything! It is great, over here in the UK we don’t really see these fired up characters. I mean seriously, DBZ made me want to be a martial artist and now I see myself going out and buying a basketball.
Solid episode, the momentum for this Anime is sprinting forward and you just know a slam dunk is on the way.
