Liam Neeson is set to reunite with Martin Scorsese for the director’s latest movie, which is called Silence.
Both Neeson and Scorsese worked together on the hit film Gangs of New York back in 2002, now they will work together once again 12 years later (has it really been 12 years?) on Silence – a movie based on the 1966 novel by Shusaku Endo.
Neeson will be joined by Ken Watanabe and Andrew Garfield; the former starred with Neeson in Batman Begins if you remember correctly.
The following information comes from STV Entertainment.
“The script is by Jay Cocks and Scorsese and the film which is being financed by Emmett/Furla/Oasis, Corsan and A1 is set to begin production in Taiwan later this year.
‘Silence’ tells the story of Father Rodrigues, a 17th century Portuguese Jesuit, who is heading to Japan with a fellow priest to discover whether his mentor has left the church, but there’s religious persecution in the country which forces them to travel undercover with an interpreter.”
Sounds interesting. We’ll look out for this.
