Finally, Vin Diesel has been announced as the voice of Groot in next year’s Marvel Phase 2 film Guardians of the Galaxy.
It has been rumoured for many months now, but it is now official. Marvel has announced that Vin Diesel will indeed be lending his voice to Groot in the epic upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Groot is a huge alien who resembles a tree. A deep voice was needed and not many are deeper than that of Vin Diesel, an actor who also voiced Disney’s Iron Giant. He is also known for the Fast & Furious movies, as well as playing Riddick in three films, XXX and Saving Private Ryan.
He will joined a star-studded cast for Guardians of the Galaxy, which features Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Benecio Del Toro, Michael Rooker, Glen Close, John C. Reilly, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan and (breathe) Djimon Hounsou.
Guardians of the Galaxy is also the last film in Marvel’s Phase 2 before The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Phase of films is made up of Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
