Week 1: terrible.
Week 2: even worse.
Week 3: an ok episode. Wait what?
I must admit I went into this episode uninterested, dreading a boring episode and with a fear of getting punch drunk from all the one liners. But strangely enough this weeks episode did JUST enough to get an extension. I will try episode 4.
Right, what made this week different?
So far the most interesting character by far is Skye, that isn’t saying much as her character is predictable, and this episode was kind of her episode. We got to see whether she would dedicate to shield or not. She obviously did. I mean that was always going to happen? This isn’t Breaking Bad.
The pacing of the storyline seemed a little better. It wasn’t just one liners every couple of seconds. It also seems like a villain could be in the making; which would be a welcome change to the enemy of the week format.
Unfortunately the storyline is still terribly predictable, it is very corny and the Avengers nods don’t really do much for me.
Moving forward I would love to see a proper enemy emerge to take on shield and not just a new task every week. Hopefully that will happen eventually. For now I will give Agents of Shield a one week extension.
