Ultimate Comics: Cataclysm .1 review

Creating a bridge between Hunger and the next big storyline in the Ultimates’ world, Cataclysm .1 sees Vision come up against Galactus. Review is right here.

Due to the effect of altering the Marvel timeline in Age of Ultron, Earth is put at risk by the eater of worlds – Galactus. The Silver Surfer and Rick Jones tried to stop Gah Lac Tus and his swarm in the four-part Hunger series, but to no avail. cataclysm .1

Cataclysm .1 serves as a little taster to the five-part Cataclysm storyline. Here we see female robot Vision leave Earth and her beau – Falcon, in order to try and stop Galactus from devouring the planet we live on. Using grenades made up of dark matter, Vision fails in her attempt of destroying the behemoth, and is left in pieces.

The comic is split between two storylines, one being based on trying to halt Galactus, the other with the robot Vision learning how to feel love, the latter being surprisingly heartfelt.

Three artists combined to draw Cataclysm .1 and they all do such a good job that it’s hard to see where one finishes his artwork and the next starts. As stated above, the comic is served to bridge Hunger and Cataclysm, so don’t expect anything amazing, just a nice little story with some cool art to accompany it.
