Directed by JJ Abrams, Star Wars VII now has an official release date, and will be hitting our cinemas Christmas 2015.
Looking forward to more Jedi and lightsaber action? Well you will have to wait a little over two years, as Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars VII will be coming out on December 18th 2015.
Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said
“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday film-going season but also ensure our extraordinary film-making team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture.”
News hit the airwaves last week that the script was to be reworked, with Lawrence Kasdan, who worked on Empire Strikes Back, will be doing a draft.
Filming is set to begin this spring; rumours suggest that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are all returning alongside new faces.
Open auditions are hitting the UK this week around Bristol, Manchester, London, Glasgow and Dublin. The studio are looking for a “street smart and strong” orphaned girl in her late teens and a “smart capable” man in his late teens or early 20’s.
