According to a report in a British newspaper, Tom Hardy is being lined up to take over Daniel Craig as James Bond, once Craig’s contract is up.
An insider apparently told The Daily Star that Tom Hardy is the studio’s favourite to take the James Bond mantle once Daniel Craig has made the last two films of his current contract.
“Although Craig is signed up for the next two Bond films the search for his replacement is already on. Tom is right at the top of the wish list. He’s been approached to gauge his interest and he’s keen.
“He’s a respected actor with a great catalogue of films but most importantly he’s the type of guy that all men want to be like and all women want to be with.
“He’s perfect Bond material.”
Hardy has become a superstar in the world of movies over the last few years, mainly thanks to his turns in such hit films as The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Warrior, Bronson and Lawless.
At 35, Hardy will most likely be 40 by the time Daniel Craig finishes his last two Bond films. His next, which is rumoured to be based on the Sebastian Foulks novel Devil May Care, is due for release in Summer 2015.
