The agents have to investigate the strange occurrences surrounding a woman who may or may not have telekinetic powers in ‘Repairs’. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode 9 review right here.
May contain spoilers.
A woman is out purchasing some groceries when she is confronted by the store owner over the death of some people at nearby power plant. When he becomes a little bit hostile, stock begins to fly off the shelves in his direction and then the gas station blows up.
The agents believe her to telekinetic powers and take her onboard the plane. We soon find that she hasn’t got any powers, but is being stalked by a man who can jump from one dimension to the next – much like Nightcrawler in The X-Men (X2 in the films).
They then have to try and protect the woman while dealing with the unseen threat.
We are up to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode 9 now and we are getting to see more of the team’s relationships build. Scientists Fitz and Simmons obviously have close feelings for each other, but neither have looked to make the other aware. Also, Ward and May are now sleeping with each other when they have time off, but is back to business when they are on the clock.
Episode 9 also sees Fitz and Simmons look to play pranks on Skye. Seeing as Skye was not trained at the S.H.I.E.L.D. academy, they see her as the perfect victim to play jokes on – such jokes as completely making up why May is known as “The Calvary” in the agency.
What we didn’t understand was why, when there is a strange being looking to kill them, did they all still continue to play pranks and tell tall-tales to Skye? Surely they would want to eliminate the threat first?
Overall Thoughts:
Not a bad instalment, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is lacking the wow factor. The characters are likeable but they need to bring in some characters from the comic world, even the smaller ones.
