Marvel has once again ruled the yearly box office as Iron Man 3 has been named the biggest movie in terms of box office takings for 2013.
Last year saw The Avengers destroy all competition to become the biggest film of 2012 and now Iron Man 3 has followed suit. The Robert Downey Jnr starring superhero movie garnered an incredible $1.2 billion in box office receipts, beating second placed Despicable Me 2 ($918 million) by nearly $300 million. 
That wasn’t the only film Marvel has in the top ten box office draws of 2013, as Thor: The Dark World was named the eighth biggest film with a tremendous $621.6 million.
