This piece of news is certain to divide movie fans. Frank Drebin is set to make a comeback in a reboot of the hit comedy The Naked Gun, only this time he will be played by Ed Helms.
A comedy legend due in large to his turns in Airplane and The Naked Gun films, Leslie Nielson sadly passed away in 2010. With his death, we also thought that the spoof police movies The Naked Gun would also end – or so we thought. 
The craziest news of the day – Ed Helms (The Hangover) is set to replace Nielson as Frank Drebin in a reboot of The Naked Gun, written by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (Reno 911).
The Naked Gun and it’s sequels (as well as Airplane) are known as some of the very best spoof films of all-time (Hot Shots a close second). Recently though, we have endured some terrible movies like The Starving Games, Epic Movie, Disaster Movie and Meet the Spartans, of which seemed to have destroyed the genre. Let’s hope that this reboot provides spoof movies a lifeline.
