Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg involved in Console Wars

Although they are already working on an adaption of Preacher, Seth Rogen and Adam Goldberg are also making a movie based on the battle between Nintendo and Sega in Console Wars.

Collider.com has reported that both Seth Rogen and Adam Goldberg have been hired by producer Scott Rudin to adapt the forthcoming book Console Wars for Sony Pictures.  The book, which is written by Blake Harris, is based around the competition between Sega and Nintendo when both companies where battling it out to promote their 16-bit games consoles. console wars

The battle between the two basically played a huge part in the way we play games now and defined a generation. In the (very) early 90’s, you were either a Super NES player or a Sega Megadrive fan (Genesis for our American friends).

The two brought out iconic games and characters in an attempt to beat the other. Anyone remember the likes of Earthworm Jim or Clay Fighters?

The following information is from Empire Magazine.

“The author will get an exec-producer credit on the film, and the deal at the moment is that Rogen and Goldberg will co-write and co-direct, as with This Is The End and the upcoming The Interview. It’s possible that Rogen would also appear on screen, but there’s no confirmation of that so far, nor indication of who he might play.

We’ll next see Rogen in Nicholas Stoller’s Neighbours on May 9. The Interview, starring James Franco, is out on December 5, and Sausage Party is currently in production for a release sometime in 2015.”
