A huge rumour has appeared today – apparently Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man will feature heavily in Captain America 3 with the Civil War storyline being the basis for the movie.
In the last week, Downey Jr. has teased at more appearances of his beloved Iron Man character. Many assumed we would be getting an Iron Man 4 film (which we still may get in the future), but the appearances he spoke of looks to be Captain America 3.
According to reports, Civil War will play a huge part of Captain America 3 and could possibly lead into The Avengers 3 too.
For those who don’t know what this all means, in the comics both Steve Rogers and Tony Stark disagree over a proposed super hero registration act; so much so, that they end up fighting each other, with other super heroes then choosing sides.
With other rumours being that Sony and Marvel are in discussions to allow Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic universe, this could be huge. Marvel head Kevin Feige has also stated in the past that he had known what Captain America 3’s full title would be for years, it looks like we could well have Captain America 3: Civil War.
This rumour does leave us wondering what will happen to the Winter Soldier, after all, that storyline seems far from over and Sebastian Stan has signed on for multiple film appearances.
More on this when we have it.
