It is now rumoured that Paul Rudd is holding out for a better deal from Marvel for him playing the star of Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man.
News from The Daily Superhero states that Paul Rudd, who has starred in many movies and the hit television series Friends, has asked Marvel for more money. His agents expect his stock to rapidly rise following the release of Anchorman 2 this Christmas.
Ant-Man is set to be Marvel’s first film in the Phase 3 series of movies, following the release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Both Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon Levitt were favourites for the role, but it is now Rudd who is the favourite for the role of Henry Pym.
This is not the first time that actors have complained about the wages offered by the studio, Robert Downey Jnr wouldn’t agree to play Iron Man again unless some of his co-stars received more money.
Do you think, if the rumours are correct, Paul Rudd is right to make a stand, or should he be flattered that Marvel want him to play a major character?
