Michael Fassbender has commented on his role in the upcoming movie adaption of a video-game Assassin’s Creed.
Fast becoming one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood, Michael Fassbender has starred in smaller and more intimate pictures like The Councillor and 12 Years a Slave and huge blockbusters such as Prometheus and X-Men: First Class. One film that will surely be huge will be the upcoming film Assassin’s Creed.
For those unaware, Assassin’s Creed will be based on the video game of the same game. The plot consists of a man called Desmond who is kidnapped by a group of people and put in a machine where, using Desmond’s DNA, he can relive the memories of his ancestors, all in order to find long lost artefacts.
Fassbender will be taking the main role and, although he is excited about the project, he never knew about the game at first, as he tells The Daily Beast.
“That’s definitely happening. We’re just developing the script at the moment. I’d heard of it but had never played the game. I don’t have a video game player … that’s not what they’re called. [Laughs] I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting—the idea of reliving memories.”
