Although he has signed on to make the third film, Marc Webb has stated that he will not be directing The Amazing Spider-Man 4.
May 2nd will see our webslinger taking on Electro, Rhino and The Green Goblin when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits our cinema screens. Marc Webb has already signed on to direct the third film, which is already pencilled in for a June 10th 2016 release, but he has stated that he will not be helming the fourth film in the series.
“I’d like to be involved as a consultant,” he told The Daily Beast, “And I’ve already talked to these guys about it. But in terms of directing it, that will close out my tenure. I’ve had so much fun doing it, but after the third movie, it’ll be the time to find something else.”
Much talk has also been about the whole Spider-Man universe, and how Sony plan on making films based solely around such villains as Venom, The Sinister Six and more.
“We’re building out a more complicated Spider-Man universe with characters that people haven’t seen in other Spider-Man movies – The Sinister Six, Venom, and more. We’d all love to overlap with other studios, but it’s beyond my pay grade.”
We want a film based on Carnage, please.
