British actor Idris Elba has signed on to voice the tiger Shere Khan in the upcoming The Jungle Book movie for Jon Favreau.
Idris Elba has come a long way in recent year, and many thanks has to go to his role as Stringer Bell in the brilliant television series The Wire. He has been in both Thor movies, Pacific Rim, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Prometheus and the titular Luthor in the hit TV series. 
He is now set to voice the infamous tiger Shere Khan in the new live-action The Jungle Book movie, which is set to be directed by Jon Favreau, the man behind Iron Man, Elf and Swingers.
The Jungle Book is one of Disney’s most beloved animated films and a couple of live action attempts have come out before, but only the Disney film has had any real success. Let’s hope the Favreau version is good.
