Following on from the success of his Evil Dead remake, Fede Alvarez has been hired to adapt the Dante’s Inferno video game to the big screen.
This year’s Evil Dead film was a big surprise for many. It was expected to be a disaster, especially since the original Sam Raimi film is beloved by horror enthusiasts around the world. Luckily, Fede Alvarez did a great job by upping the blood and gore, keeping the key scenes, but adding some new stuff into the mix as well.
Now, Fede Alvarez has been given the job of turning the Electronic Art’s horror video game Dante’s Inferno into a major motion picture.
Dante’s Inferno itself is based on the poem Inferno by Dante Alighieri, where Dante travels through the nine circles of hell in hope of saving his lover.
The game was packed full of visceral monsters and beasts and, much like Evil Dead, was very gory. Can Alvarez have another hit on his hands?
