Doug Liman to direct Tom Hardy in Splinter Cell

Finally, New Regency and Ubisoft Motion Pictures have found their director to adapt Splinter Cell starring Tom Hardy. The director will be Doug Liman.

Doug Liman’s latest film Edge of Tomorrow, which stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, is not even out yet, but he is ready to jump on another project. Doug has been hired to adapt the movie Splinter Cell from the series of hit video game series. doug liman

He already has a star to play the main character in Tom Hardy. Hardy has become one of the most sought after actors in the world, thanks to his performances in such films as Bronson, The Dark Knight Rises and Inception. He has Locke coming out this April and then will be seen in Child 44, Mad Max: Fury Road and the Elton John biopic Rocketman.

Splinter Cell is based around Sam Fisher, a highly-trained special operative in a fictional black-ops sub-division, “Echelon”. Sam Fisher and the agents of Echelon utilize combat skills, weapons and cutting-edge gadgets to neutralize international terrorist threats and rogue forces in modern, realistic stories ripped from the headlines.
