It has been announced that Don Cheadle will play a significant part in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, as the Iron Patriot (or War Machine) will fight to help save the planet.
The report first came from HitFix, who stated that Cheadle will have “a key role in the conflict with Ultron that is the main focus of the sequel.” The report also suggested that major changes will be happening to The Avengers and Cheadle’s character could become a permanent member of The Avengers. 
The Avengers: Age of Ultron will already see two news characters in Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. The siblings will be played by Aaron Taylor Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen.
Don Cheadle has played James “Rhodey” Rhodes since Iron Man 2, taking over from Terrence Howard. He became War Machine in Iron Man 2 and then the Iron Patriot in this year’s Iron Man 3.
The addition of the Iron Patriot to The Avengers: Age of Ultron makes us even more excited – if that was even possible.
