Having already wrote Thor: The Dark World and the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, Christopher Yost will now turn his attention to penning the new He-Man movie Masters of the Universe.
We’ve been waiting for a new Masters of the Universe movie for some time now and for a while it looked like the movie could have been shelved due to the lack of updates. Now, fans of Eternia have been given hope in the form of some juicy news.
Christopher Yost, who is the man behind two Thor films and a multitude of comic books, has been hired to write a Master of the Universe – taking over from previous screenwriters Terry Rossio and Jeff Wadlow who have left the project. It is unknown as yet if Yost is starting fresh or if he will build upon the foundations lay by Rossio and Wadlow.
Whilst Yost certainly has the experience and know-how to create a new version of He-Man, his Thor: The Dark World screenplay did come under fire by some fans and critics (although we actually quite enjoyed the movie). Let’s hope Masters of the Universe is his masterpiece (to some degree).
This isn’t the first time we have had a Masters of the Universe film; Dolph Lundgren played Prince Adam/He-Man back in 1987. The film was panned but has since gained a cult following, mainly due to Frank Langella’s rather brilliant portrayal of Skeletor – He-Man’s arch enemy.
More on Masters of the Universe once we have it.
