The race for the Oscars is beginning to heat up as American Hustle has just won the Best Film award at the New York Film Critic Circle Awards.
David O. Russell’s latest movie has just thrown its hand in for next year’s Acadamy Awards by winning the award for Best Film at the New York Film Critic Circle Awards. American Hustle features and incredible ensemble with Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence. Lawrence also won the award for Best Supporting Actress at the NYFCC.
O. Russell has been on a roll in recent years; he directed the brilliant Silver Linings Playbook last year and The Fighter before that. American Hustle now has to be one of the favourites for the Oscars next year, alongside the likes of 12 Years a Slave, Gravity and Captain Phillips.
