80’s flick Roadhouse to be remade

November 25, 2013 By Carl Burgess Leave a Comment

The remake mill continues to turn, as the classic 80’s flick Roadhouse is the latest movie to be updated in Hollywood.

Released in 1989 and earning $30 million at the box office and later a cult following on video cassette, Roadhouse saw Patrick Swayze portray an infamous bouncer called Dalton who is hired to clean up the Double Deuce bar. roadhouse

Now, MGM have hired Rob Cohen to direct a remake based on an updated script by Michael Stokes. Cohen has his fair share of action flicks on his resume, having directed XXX, Daylight and The Mummy: Curse of the Dragon Emperor.

Patrick Swayze sadly passed away in 2009 with pancreatic cancer. It is yet unknown who will take over the role of Dalton, but whoever it will be, “we thought he’d be bigger”.

Do you love the original? Are you looking forward to seeing a remake?
