X-Men: Apocalypse announced for 2016

December 5, 2013 By Carl Burgess Leave a Comment

Days of Future Past may not even be released yet, but that hasn’t stopped Bryan Singer from announcing the next X-Men film – X-Men: Apocalypse.

Director Bryan Singer has taken to Twitter to announce that another X-Men film is incoming and based around the Age of Apocalypse storyline that ran through the X-Men comics in 1995 and 1996. The story, like next year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, revolves around time travel and how changing the past cause a shift in the timeline – attracting a deadly mutant called Apocalypse. x-men: Apocalypse

It is as yet unknown whether Bryan Singer will use the cast from X-Men: First Class or his original cast from the first three films. Seeing as there is a shift in the timeline, both sets of characters and actors could be featured.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will open next year in May, and X-Men: Apocalypse exactly two years later in 2016.

Super-Hero news seems to be coming in thick and fast. It was announced that Gal Gadot would be playing Wonder Woman in the Batman vs. Superman movie and today saw the official trailer released for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
