Tom Hardy film LOCKE secures U.S distribution

September 7, 2013 By Carl Burgess Leave a Comment

Tom Hardy’s upcoming film Locke has found a U.S distributor, with A24 Films picking up the rights at the Toronto International Film Festival.

News was broken by The Hollywood Reporter earlier when they stated that Locke was the first major film to secure a deal at TIFF. IM Global’s CEO Stuart Ford commented after the deal, “A24 is exactly the right kind of ballsy, innovative distributor that an astonishing film like ‘Locke’ needs.”

Locke is about a man whose life comes undone during a car journey one day. The whole film is set inside a car for 90 minutes and early word is that is a bit special. Tom Hardy, who plays the main role, has become a superstar in the last couple of years. After the mixed martial arts drama Warrior, Hardy was given the biggest role of his career – portraying Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.

Locke director Steven Knight made his debut film earlier this year called Hummingbird starring Jason Statham.
