Three actors have signed up for MGM’s remake of ‘Poltergeist’, in the shape of Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie Dewitt and Kyle Catlett.
The original Tobe Hooper directed ‘Poltergeist’ was produced by Steven Spielberg in 1982, asn will be forever remembered for pulling children through television sets and into the netherworld. Now a remake is on the way and will be directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House) and penned by David Lindsay-Abaire (Oz the Great and Powerful).
The film now has some great actors on its castlist, with Sam Rockwell leading. Rockwell, who is mostly known for Iron Man 2, Cowboys & Aliens, Moon and Seven Psychopaths, will play the head of the Bowens, a family who are targeted by some ghosts.
Rosemarie DeWitt and Kyle Catlett will play other members of Rockwell’s on-screen family.
Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will produce through their Ghost House Pictures banner along with Roy Lee.
Poltergeist is set for release sometime in 2014
