Two films to be directed by Steven Spielberg have been officially announced with release dates to boot. Check out what is coming next from famous director.
Although he won critical acclaim with Lincoln a couple of years ago, Spielberg has been a little quiet as of late, but that is about to change as two films have been announced. As he has done throughout his career, he will again do a potential Oscar winner and then a massive kid’s blockbuster.
First up from Spielberg will be an untitled Cold War thriller starring Tom Hanks as James Donovan, an attorney negotiating the return of an American pilot from the Soviet Union in 1960. It sounds like a future award winner and having Hanks on board can only help proceedings. The film will be released on October 16th 2015.
Spielberg will then follow that up with a live-action adaption of the classic Roald Dahl book The BFG. The tale tells the story of a girl who befriends a Big Friendly Giant, whilst other humans are taken away and eaten by not-so-nice giants. The BFG is set for July 1st 2016.
They both sound very appealing. More on the production of both movies when we have it.
