The star of the Fast & Furious films, Paul Walker has tragically died after a car crash in California last night after attending a charity event.
It’s one of those stories that makes the world realise that life is very short and fragile. Aged only 40 years old, Paul Walker was being driven home by a friend in a Porsche following a charity event when the crash took place. Both Walker and the unnamed driver were killed.
Walker made his film debut in 1986 in the Troma film Monster in the Closet. He would then go on to star in numerous television series like Highway to Heaven and Throb, before returning to films like Pleasantville, Varsity Blues, She’s All That and the thriller Roadkill (Joy Ride in some countries).
His star rose though after playing the undercover cop Brian O’Connor in The Fast & The Furious alongside Vin Diesel.
The film was such a hit that it has produced six sequels to date, in which Walker has starred in all. Fast 7 is being filmed right now, but it is unknown if Walker managed to film all his scenes before last night’s accident.
Vin Diesel put a statement on instagram following the news of Paul’s death.
“Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace.”
Another one of his co-stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson left a message via his Twitter account.
”All my strength, love and faith to the Walker family during this heartbreaking time. We find our strength… in his light. Love you brother.”
As well as a film star, Paul Walker was also a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt under the Gracie family. They are also said to be shocked and saddened of the passing.
