Mark Forster won’t return for World War Z sequel

October 4, 2013 By Carl Burgess Leave a Comment

World War Z was a surprise hit earlier this year, but with a sequel now being worked on, don’t expect Marc Forster to be directing it again.

Taking in over $539 million at the box office worldwide, World War Z is actually Brad Pitt’s biggest hit to date, which is kind of shocking. Although the film did well, the production was somewhat of a catastrophe, with delays, re-shoots and expanding budgets. Something that Marc Forster could be partly to blame for. marc-forster

This isn’t the first time that the German director has had a troublesome shoot, he also had many problems on the set of the James Bond thriller Quantum of Solace, a film that is regarded to be the weakest of the Daniel Craig era.

It seems that a new director will be sought for World War Z 2, with Brad Pitt confirming that work is already underway. Let’s hope they spend more time in pre-production this time and get the most out of the brilliant material.
