Following her great turn in this year’s Only God Forgives, Kristin Scott Thomas will follow it up with My Old Lady.
Although Nicolas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives garnered mixed reactions, everyone can agree on Kristin Scott Thomas’s performance being excellent. Now, the actress who made a name for herself in Four Weddings and a Funeral, will turn to My Old Lady.
The movie will see Scott Thomas play the daughter of Mathilde Giffard – played by Dame Maggie Smith. Kevin Kline (A Fish called Wanda) will play a man waiting for Giffard to die so he can sell the inherited flat.
My Old Lady will be adapted for the screen from a stage play by Israel Horovich, a man with only one directorial effort in the past – 2002’s 3 Weeks after Paradise, a 51 minute film based upon the World Trade Center disaster.
