Marvel boss Kevin Feige has been answering more questions regarding potential films in the Marvel universe, this time Iron Man 4 and Hulk 2.
Iron Man 3 was released earlier this year and, so far, is the biggest movie of 2013. With Robert Downey Jnr signing on for both The Avengers: Age of Ultron and The Avengers 3, people want to know if a fourth instalment of the Iron Man series is on the cards.
“If I believe Tony Stark to be James Bond, then there would be an Iron Man 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9… What is James Bond on at? Twenty? [Downey's return] is the question. And again, that’s a question we won’t have to face until after ‘Avengers 3.’ So that’s at least five or six years away.”
Rumours were circulating a few months back that a sequel to the Hulk film would be coming in Phase 2. Sadly it’s not, but seeing as The Incredible Hulk was the smallest grossing Marvel film from phase 1, it isn’t surprising. Phase 3 is a possibility, but it is unknown if they will be going with the rumoured Planet Hulk storyline leading to The Avengers 3 with the World War Hulk story from the comics.
“We have been discussing after ‘Avengers’ what [a Hulk movie] would look like. We wanted people to come out of ‘Avengers’ saying The Hulk was their favourite character or at least one of their favourite. The fact that it happened was awesome.”
