Due to his huge success in playing Iron Man, it seems like Robert Downey Jr is trying to use his influence to help get his friends Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster involved in future marvel films.
As we have stated before, the Marvel Universe of movies are huge business, raking in billions to date. The biggest star is undoubtedly Robert Downey Jr, who has starred in three Iron Man films and of course The Avengers. Having signed on for another two films, including next year’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, it looks like Downey Jr is using his pulling power to help Mel Gibson and Jodi Foster get involved.
According to Radar Online, a source stated the following.
“He wants to bring Mel and Jodie into the Marvel universe. It’s been a long-time dream of Robert’s to help Mel and Jodie reach similar big box office heights like the ones he’s achieved in recent years.”
Apparently, Jodie Foster would be a welcome addition to the Marvel Universe, Mel Gibson not so much. Of course Gibson is a great actor and an Oscar winner, but his turbulent past may be a little too much for Marvel, unless they are willing to look past it all. Don’t hold your breath though.
