If Harvey Weinstein gets his own way, we could very well have Scream 5 getting a green light in the near future.
According to Indiewire, Weinstein has been answering questions at the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland, with many people choosing to ask about a possible fifth Scream film. Apparently, Harvey has been pushing his brother Bob – who owns Dimension Films – to make one last film.
“Everyone lived in Scream 4,” he said “I’m begging him to do the movie and just end it. We’ve milked that cow.”
Scream became a huge hit ever since it hit the cinemas in 1996. The Wes Craven directed film spawned three sequels, with last one to date being brought out in 2011. Scream was hailed by critics for mixing scares and laughs in equal measure, as it followed Sidney Prescott trying to escape being murdered by, the now legendary, Ghostface.
Scream is currently being adapted into a television series for MTV, if successful, you can expect one last visit to Woodsboro.
