Games that felt like movies

October 4, 2013 By Edmond Guy Leave a Comment

Ever played a game that feels like you are watching a movie? We have. Here are some examples of movie like games we enjoyed.

Games are of course different to movies, they can share elements but they are ultimately different experiences, but that doesn’t mean a game can’t reach the cinematic levels of movies. Here are some examples we feel could give films a run for their money:

The Last Of Us

One of the best games I’ve ever played. Fittingly described as Playstation 3’s ‘Swan Song’.

The combat after this scene was immense. The story really pulled you into the gameplay.

Max Payne 3

This could possibly be one of the finest examples of blurring the lines of game/film. Some even describe it as an interactive movie!

An adrenaline rush from start to finish.

“I narrate my life in Max Payne’s voice”. I wish I could take credit for that epic quote.

Metal Gear Solid 4

Hideo Kojima wants to be a director. Is something you would be forgiven for thinking.

Playing MGS4 was a blast. I enjoyed the cutscenes(not an opinion everyone shares), the crazy storyline and hiding in cardboard boxes.

Likely do a volume 2 post in the future Stay tuned. For now take a look at Beyond: Two Souls.

Games by David Cage usually aim to be movies!
