FINDING DORY pushed back to 2016

September 19, 2013 By Carl Burgess Leave a Comment

The sequel to the hit Disney film Finding Nemo has been delayed. Finding Dory will now be released in 2016.

Pixar, the studio behind such modern classics as Toy Story, Monsters Inc, UP and Wall-E, have decided to push back two of their upcoming films and have a year off from releasing a movie in 2014. This will be the first time since 2005 when they had a gap year between The Incredibles and Cars. finding-dory-poster

The Good Dinosaur was set for a summer 2014 release, but that will now open in November 2015. Finding Dory will now be unleashed in June 2016.

Finding Dory is based on Nemo’s forgetful friend Dort, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres.

Pixar president Ed Catmull said the reasoning behind the delays is to give The Good Dinosaur more time to make better. So they want to make sure that the saying ‘quality over quantity’ rings true.
