It seems as though The Avengers: Age of Ultron now has its Scarlet Witch, with the heavily-rumoured Elizabeth Olsen stepping into the role.
The casting was (accidently) announced by Samuel L. Jackson who, with an interview with the Wall Street Journal confirmed the latest addition to the upcoming blockbuster.
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year,” Jackson said about ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. “I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
The Scarlet Witch and her brother Quicksilver first appeared in X-Men #4 in 1964 and moved over to The Avengers. Originally aligned with The Brotherhood of Mutants, both Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver turned good.
It is also rumoured the Aaron Taylor Johnson (Kick Ass) will portray Quicksilver in The Avengers 2.
Elizabeth Olsen is the younger sister to the Olsen Twins, and has recently stepped out from their shadow in films such as Silent House and Red Lights. You can expect her to be a household name shortly, thanks to her taking part in remakes of Oldboy and Godzilla.
