The highest grossing star in movies for 2013 has been announced – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. More on the story right here.
A former WWE wrestler turned Hollywood superstar, Dwayne Johnson has made the transition to action star with relative ease. Now, after numerous hits in 2013, he has pipped Robert Downey Jnr to be named the highest grossing star of the year. 
Johnson has featured in the likes of Fast & Furious 6, Pain & Gain, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Snitch and Empire State this year.
As well as Johnson and Downey Jnr, the list of most bankable stars in 2013 also featured Steve Carrell, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Hemsworth, Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker.
Forbes also recently released the list for most over paid actors in Hollywood today, with comic Adam Sandler topping that one.
