According to reports, both Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are the frontrunners to play Ant-Man in the upcoming Marvel movie.
All set to be directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, The World’s End), Ant-Man will hit the cinemas in 2015. Wright recently posted a picture of Ant-Man in production, which means that at least some of the casting has been made.
Fans have been waiting on hand and foot for news regarding the cast of Henry Pym and his alter ego Ant-Man, well it seems the studio have narrowed it down to comedic actor Paul Rudd (Knocked-Up, The 40-year old Virgin) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception) and possibly one other unnamed actor.
Apparently, both actors are set to meet with the studio one more time before a decision is made.
In the Marvel universe, Henry Pym is a fantastic scientist who can make himself as small as an ant and as big as a house. He has also gone by the name of Giant-Man, Yellow Jacket and Goliath, but is mostly remembered as Ant-Man. Interestingly, Pym is also the inventor of a super computer which became self-aware and decided to kill mankind – Ultron. The next Avengers movie will be entitled The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
