Alfonso Cuaron could follow up his fantastic Gravity with an unexpected film – the prequel to Stanley Kubrick’s classic The Shining.
Rumours are circulating that the visionary director Alfonso Cuaron has been offered the opportunity to direct The Overlook Hotel – a prequel to The Shining. Nothing else has been mentioned regarding the plot, but we expect it to be regarding the ghostly happenings at the hotel before the Torrance family come to stay.
A sequel to The Shining was released in book form by Stephen King late last year, and was based around Danny Torrance as a grown man trying to help a young girl who also has similar psychic powers as himself.
Cuaron, who won praise for Gravity and his earlier film Children of Men, has also been offered the chance to direct the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
