Robin Williams found dead at 63

August 12, 2014 By Carl Burgess Leave a Comment

One of Hollywood’s all-time great comedic performers was found dead last night. Rest in peace Robin Williams, thank you for bringing light to our lives.

robin williamsAn Oscar winner who couldn’t help but make us all laugh, Robin Williams will no doubt be remembered by millions around the world. He burst onto our television sets as the lovable alien in Mork and Mindy and then moved onto a successful movie career. Such films as Hook, Good Morning Vietnam, Mrs Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting and The Birdcage saw Williams become one of the biggest and brightest stars in the world and the loss of such will certainly make our little planet a sadder place to reside.

It wasn’t just his comedy performances that touched our hearts though, Williams was a fantastic actor all-round. He played a serial killer in Christopher Nolan’s Insomnia opposite Al Pacino, a stalker in One Hour Photo as well as nice dramatic roles in Dead Poet’s Society, The Fisher King and Awakenings.

It seems that a lot of sadness was hidden beneath that infectious smile though, as Williams was found dead at his home in Tiburon, California in a suspected suicide from asphyxiation.

The news of his passing has left the world shocked and heartbroken. Friends and other celebrities have paid their respects to the great man via social networking sites and interviews and it is clear that he will be terribly missed by all.

Williams was a one-of-a-kind who cared for everybody around him more than he did himself. He was a humanitarian who worked with many charities in hope that he could help those who need it.

Thank you for making us laugh and cry, Mr Williams. Thank you for being a part of our lives. We will miss you.
