“While this wasn’t the blistering, high octane action the previous episode presented; it still presented interesting angles.”
So, how did the opening episode of series 2 pan out? Interestingly enough we got treated to the Kagami origin story, that ring around is neck isn’t just for show, which went into his childhood in America. While this wasn’t the blistering, high octane action the previous episode presented; it still presented interesting angles. For example, without spoiling too much, Kagami’s rivalry with an old friend. Things get heated, fast, when the two meet at an impromptu street basketball competition.
All in all the episode was ‘good’, the origin story was interesting, and let’s be honest; the season 1 finale was always going to be hard to top. Season 2 starts by expanding the story, and now let’s see what happens as we draw closer to the winter cup!
Overall thoughts:
Interesting new storyline developments, new rivalries, and intriguing new characters. Good start for the second season, and my suspicion is that season 2 has the potential to be even more awesome than the first. Which was crazy as hell.
