John Kennix and Dorian investigate the murder of a man who was last seen with a synthetic prostitute in Skin. Review of Almost Human episode 2 after the jump.

Almost Human episode 2 starts with a man spending some time with a synthetic prostitute – or sexbot as they are referred to here. After deciding to take some samples of her hair and breath, the man is soon interrupted by two bad guys, who kill him and let off a mini bomb that doesn’t actually destroy anything – merely camouflages all the DNA in the room.
Almost Human is our new Sci-fi addiction.
Kennix (Karl Urban) and his synthetic partner Dorian (Michael Ealy) turn up and start to investigate the case. Meanwhile, a woman is kidnapped in a carpark by the two bad guys, leaving her young son alone in the car. 
We soon have an episode based around the sex trade and a gang of Albanians killing human women to harvest their skin to use on the synthetics for a more realistic experience.
Skin builds on the pilot episode but with more humour. Whilst Kennix was more cold the first time we saw him, he now seems more human, which is a good thing, as it can help us tell the difference between humans and synthetics easier.
The world in which Almost Human is set, looks great. The locations, effects and props are all spot on – making this seem a slightly brighter setting than that of say Blade Runner. It’s also good to see Mackenzie Crook playing the synthetic engineer – we haven’t seen a lot of him since The Office and Pirates of the Caribbean, but he does a great job here.
Overall Thoughts:
Almost Human episode 2 builds on the first episode and lets us see more of these characters and the world in which it’s based. Almost Human is our new Sci-fi addiction.
