Rumours have just hit the web regarding an appearance of William Shatner in the upcoming Star Trek 3 movie. Trekkies just got excited at warp speed.
According to the guys at Badass Digest, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy will both make an appearance in Star Trek 3 for director Roberto Orchi. Orchi has taken over from J.J. Abrams, who is now filming the latest Star Wars movie.
If you remember back, Nimoy returned as an older Spock in the 2009 Star Trek reboot and apparently Shatner wasn’t happy that he wasn’t invited back too. Well, it seems he has his chance to revisit the beloved series once more.
Star Trek 3 is set to be released in 2016, which marks the series 50th anniversary, so it makes sense to have them back, but that also means that Star Trek 3 will involve time travel once again, maybe to save some whales (ahem).
