Quentin Tarantino picks his ten favourite films of 2013…so far

October 7, 2013 By Carl Burgess Leave a Comment

Quentin Tarantino has named his top ten favourite movies of 2003 so far, with a couple of surprises thrown in the mix.

Director of such hits as Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Django Unchained and Kill Bill, Quentin Tarantino is no stranger to controversy. There is also no doubting that Tarantino knows a thing or two about movies, as first and foremost, he is a huge fan of cinema. After taking a year out from making his top ten lists, Quentin returns for a “best of 2013 so far”, with some entrees that may be surprising to some. Quentin Tarantino-PPF-038420

Thanks to the Tarantino Archives, the list is as follows (in alphabetical order).

Afternoon Delight

Before Midnight

Blue Jasmine

The Conjuring

Drinking Buddies

Frances Ha

Gravity

Kick-Ass 2

The Lone Ranger

This is the End

The addition of The Lone Ranger may surprise many, especially as it has been slated by many critics and because it bombed at the box office. But…we at Screen Critix aren’t. If you take a look back at our review (just yesterday) we gave it 4* and asked people to look past what’s been said and form your own opinion.

One film that we don’t agree with Tarantino on is This is the End. We felt that, while the film did start off humorous with the actors playing a parody of themselves, the jokes wore thin in the middle and last third. The World’s End would have made are more valid pick.
