Joe Cornish tipped to direct Skull Island

It looks as though Joe Cornish could be the man to take us back to Skull Island, as the director has been offered the job by Legendary.

skull islandThis year’s San Diego Comic Con has been great for film news. Not only were we informed of Godzilla 2 and the monsters that will appear, but we were also told that the home of King Kong wll be the basis for a new big budget movie – Skull Island.

Now, news has filtered to us regarding the director of the project. It seems like Joe Cornish, known for the film Attack the Block, is tipped for the job.

Joe was also linked to Star Trek 3 last year, but that didn’t go ahead (for now anyway) so Skull Island could very well be his next job. Of course, we haven’t seen Skull Island on the big screen since Peter Jackson’s lukewarm King Kong film a few years ago, so it will be interesting to see what Legendary and Cornish have up their sleeves.

The film is set for release on November 4th 2016. More on Skull Island when we have it.
