Henry Cavill praised for The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Henry Cavill has received some early praise for his performance in the upcoming Guy Ritchie movie The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

henry cavillIt was originally going to star Tom Cruise, yet he dropped out in order to concentrate on another Mission Impossible film. Henry Cavill, who was seen last year as Superman in Man of Steel, stepped up to the plate and, early word is very positive.

Talking to the Press Association, cinematographer John Mathieson had some kind words to say about Cavill.

“I thought Henry was terrific.

“He plays it quite humorously; everything’s slightly quirky, slightly sharp. It was very comic strip in some ways; I mean that in a good way.

“He plays it very differently [to Superman], this is much more earthbound. He’s a peacock, and he’s very funny. I thought he was great.”

Following the huge success of the two Sherlock Holmes movies (making a combine $1 billion), Guy Ritchie is more in demand than ever. Following The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ritchie will start his King Arthur film series.

Meanwhile, Cavill is now preparing for the Batman vs. Superman film alongside Ben Affleck and a whole plethora of stars.
