It’s just come out and already done incredibly well at the box office, now a sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been green lit by Paramount.
The Michael Bay produced reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is doing well at the box-office despite some scathing reviews from the critics (our review is coming up later). So well, that it has knocked off the fantastic Guardians of the Galaxy from the top spot.
Now, Paramount has green lit a sequel, which will be released in 2016. If you look back, the original sequel to the first series came out to bad reviews too, that went by the moniker “Secret of the Ooze”.
The new sequel will again be written by the duo Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec and be produced by Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes. The director has not been announced, so we don’t know for sure if Jonathan Liebesman will return.
The film was given a release date of June 3rd, 2016. Sony’s Sausage Party is also set for release on that date.
More on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 when we have it.
