It looks like Channing Tatum could be set to play Gambit in either an X-Men movie or a stand-alone film, according to sources.
In an interview with Empire Magazine, film producer Lauren Shuler Donner has stated that she is eager to get Channing Tatum on board to play Mutant hero Gambit in an upcoming film.
“I’m dying to do a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum.” 
“He’s on board, and I have to get the studio on board. How can anyone resist Channing? He’s such a sweetheart.”
Tatum, who will be seen later this year in 22 Jump Street (the sequel to 21 Jump Street), is said to be a huge fan of Marvel comics and the Cajun playing card-slinger Gambit.
“Gambit’s my favourite, ’cause I’m from New Orleans – or around that area, my dad’s from New Orleans”, adding that his knowledge of Louisiana gives him an advantage.
The addition of Tatum would be huge for the X-Men world and it would already give a boost to the X-Men: Apocalypse movie that is due out in 2016.
