Following the huge success of Mad Max: Fury Road, director George Miller will now develop Man of Steel 2 for Warner Bros.
Known for being the man behind the cult favourite Mad Max films, George Miller was cast once more into the spotlight this year with the release of Mad Max: Fury Road, starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Fury Road was well received by both critics and audience members alike, scoring huge numbers at the box office. The success of Fury Road may have just scored Frank Miller the big job of bringing Man of Steel 2 to the screen.
This isn’t the first time that Miller has been attached to a DC Comics production; he was set to make a Justice League film once, but the film was dropped at the last minute. He now gets his chance to dabble with the super heroes here, taking over from Zack Snyder.
Man of Steel was released in 2013 to mixed reviews. Some (like ourselves) loved the new look supes whilst others loathed it. Snyder has since gone on to make next year’s potential big hitter – Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Although it is very early days in terms of casting, it is pretty easy to assume that Henry Cavill will return as Clark Kent/Superman. We could also see Laurence Fishbourne, Amy Adams and Diane Lane return to their respective characters too. There is no news in terms of plot or which bad guys our hero will go up against, but we are holding out for Doomsday.
More on Man of Steel 2 when we have it.
