After the original doing surprisingly well at the box office in 2009, Kevin James is set to return as Paul Blart in a comedy sequel.
Released in 2009, the Kevin James starrer Paul Blart: Mall Cop did better at the box office than expected – making $183 million on just a $26 million budget. The film saw James play Paul Blart, a wannabe police officer who couldn’t make the cut and has to earn a living as a security guard in the local mall. Every day is a little boring for him; that is until a gang of criminals take over the Mall in order to steal all the money.
The Hollywood Reporter has stated that Andy Flickman will be directing, with Kevin James and Nick Bakay once again co-writing the script together. Flickman recently made the movie Parental Guidance with Billy Crystal and Bette Midler as well as the Dwayne Johnson movie Race to Witch Mountain.
